How every inbound lot is checked before it ships
Nothing leaves the Dubuque warehouse before the paperwork for that lot is in the file. This page explains what gets tested, by whom, and what happens on the rare occasion a result comes back wrong.
Where the capsule is made
Manufacturing happens in an FDA-registered facility in the United States that operates under current Good Manufacturing Practice rules. In practice that means documented sourcing for each raw material, cleaning and changeover records between runs, in-process weight checks, and a retained sample from every batch kept on file after release.
Registration is not approval. An FDA-registered facility is one the agency knows about and can inspect, and cGMP is a manufacturing standard, not a verdict on whether a supplement works. We use both phrases on this site because they are accurate, and we do not dress them up into something they are not.
What the third-party laboratory runs
Identity
Confirms each botanical is the species on the label, using chromatographic fingerprinting rather than a supplier's word.
Purity and potency
The current lot returned 99.4% by HPLC-MS. This figure describes the actives as characterised by the laboratory, not a milligram breakdown, which the formulator does not publish.
Heavy metals
Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury by ICP-MS. The current lot screened at < 0.6 ppm.
Microbial
Total plate count, yeast, mould, and the pathogen panel. Current result: Within USP <2021> limits.
The laboratory is Northgate Verity Labs, LLC, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, and it is independent of both the formulator and this distributor. The certificate reference for the lot on the shelves today is NVL-R0451-2026, and the lot code is SBP-26-0913.
What happens when a result is out of range
The pallet stays on hold. It does not get sold at a discount, it does not go to a secondary channel and it does not quietly become someone else's problem. Product that fails a screening is returned to the manufacturer with the report attached, and the next run has to clear before we take orders against it. That has cost us stock weeks, which is annoying and correct.
What testing cannot tell you
It cannot tell you whether the capsule will work for you. Identity, purity and screening answer the questions "is this the plant it claims to be, is it clean, is it safe to swallow". Efficacy is a different question that a certificate of analysis has never answered for any supplement, ours included.
